Yarraman Park’s I Am Invincible has skipped to a clear lead on the Australian 2YO Sires List by winners after posting his 23rd Australian juvenile winner at Ipswich on Wednesday with an impressive debut win for Asharani.

The David Vandyke trained filly was a short priced favourite on the strength of two promising barrier trial wins and looked even better on race day dashing clear for a dominant two and a half length win in the 1200 metre sprint.

A $440,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Canning Downs draft for David Lucas/ Phoenix Thoroughbreds, Asharani is the seventh winner from seven foals to race from good producing stakes-winner Fuji Dancer.

I Am Invincible’s 23 two year-old winners include four stakes-winners – Pure Elation, Santos, Paquirri and Fiesta, not to mention Australia’s best maiden Oohood, a place-getter in the Golden Slipper, Blue Diamond and ATC Sires Produce Stakes.

I Am Invincible is fully booked this spring at Yarraman Park at a fee of $192,500.
