Fresh from siring not one but two stakes-winners at the Flemington Carnival, Hinchinbrook has given us a Breednet ‘One to Watch’ with an impressive debut winner at Sha Tin on Sunday. Trained by John Size and ridden by Joao Moreira three year-old gelding Beat the Clock was sent out favourite for the 1400 metre Class four event despite taking on older rivals from an outside barrier. He zoomed forward to lead and dashed away to win as he pleased by three lengths in a dominant display. Beat the Clock was a $200,000 NZB Ready to Run Purchase from the Prima Park draft and was a successful pinhook for them having been originally snapped up for $70,000 from the Yarraman Park draft at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale. Bred by Jilly Henderson, he is the second winner for Group III placed Lion Hunter mare Flion Fenena. Hinchinbrook has had a strong start to the season with rising star filly Spright and speedy four year-old mare Flippant claiming stakes wins at Flemington last week. Hinchinbook is working through a full book at Yarraman Park this spring at a fee of $38,500.
