A stakes-winner at Flemington last year, Illustrious Lad added another Listed win to his resume when taking out the Listed SAJC Wylie Handicap at Morphettville on Saturday. Prepared by Peter Gelagotis, Illustrious Lad took the 100 metre sprint by a three parts of a length, his eighth win from 23 starts with nearly $350,000 in prizemoney. Bred and sold by Yarraman Park, Illustrious Lad was a $40,000 Magic Millions purchase for part-owner Anthony Pannozzo and is the only living foal of Group III placed Zeditave mare Industrious, who comes from the family of brilliant sprinters Better Than Ready, Miss Mooney Mooney and Publishing. Illustrious Lad is one of 14 stakes-winners for outstanding young sire I Am Invincible, who is fully booked at Yarraman Park at a fee of $55,000.
