A $450,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Yarraman Park draft for Asian Bloodstock Services, two year-old I Am Invincible filly California Zimbol made a big impression when scoring on debut at Canterbury on Wednesday.

A big strong filly that has been given time to mature by Peter and Paul Snowden, California Zimbol raced on the pace for Glyn Schofield and cruised home to win by a length and a half in the 1200 metre maiden.

“Coming around the turn she was full of running,” Schofield said.

“She has a good turn of foot and there is a lot to like about her.

“I’m sure the Snowden’s will have a lot of fun placing her in some of the good races going forward.”

Foaled and raised at Yarraman, California Zimbol is a half-sister to stakes-winners From Within and Cruden Bay being the fifth winner from five to race from the good producing Anabaa (USA) mare Zimaretto.

Yarraman Park sold the full brother to California Zimbol at Magic Millions earlier this year for $360,000 to Edmonds Rcg/ Blue Sky B/S (FBAA)/Raffles Rcg. Zimaretto has a weanling colt to follow by Astern.

California Zimbol is the 17th two year-old winner of the season for I Am Invincible.
