December 14 – Believe’n’Receive gave Prime Thoroughbreds its 24th winner at its 100th start for the season when he toughed it out to win at Strathalbyn on Wednesday.

The three-year-old was having his second race start in the maiden and jockey Simon Price took him to the front in the 1350m event.

The Mark Kavanagh trained gelding fought on gamely when challenged to get home by a half-neck from Night Breeze.

Believe’n’Receive (pictured as a weanling) was bought privately from the paddock at Yarraman Park as a weanling and is a son of Foreplay.

The success syndication company has had plenty of luck with horses bought from Yarraman Park.

“Interestingly of the 24 wins we have had this season, 10 were from horses reared at Yarraman Park,” said Joe O’Neill.

“In fact we have had 11 (8 individual winners) horses reared at Yarraman Park that have had 38 starts for 10 wins for an average of 26.3% winners to runners.

“The best has been Too Many Reds with the wins from six starts and the others have been Sea Tryst, Ohmygod, Tigerish, Not Another Red, Terra Amata, Another Concerto and Believe’n’Receive.”

Believe’n’Receive is a half-brother to Beautiful Crown’s daughter Believe ‘n Achieve which won the most races of any three-year-old during the 2009-10 season.

She won seven of 11 starts including seven of nine that season.

Amongst those were three victories in Adelaide and two in Melbourne – both at Moonee Valley.

The following season, Believe ‘n Achieve ran fourth to Sacred Choice – with Typhoon Tracy runner-up – in the Group One Myer Classic (1600m).

She also ran fourth to Happy Hippy in the Listed Summoned Stakes (1500m) at Sandown and won over 1200m at Morphettville,

Believe’n’Receive is a full brother to three-time Adelaide winner Sea Tryst and it is hoped he will progress on to bigger and better things as did those two older siblings.
