Tasmania, January 19 – Joe O’Neill’s Prime Thoroughbreds have been enjoying a fine winning run over the summer months including a double at Launceston on Wednesday with a couple of horses bought privately out of the paddock at Yarraman Park.

“Another Concerto and Faith’N’Courage both scored very good strong wins and have positioned themselves amongst the best three year old fillies racing in Tasmania,” said Joe O’Neill.

“Another Concerto will now head to the Tasmanian 1000 Guineas and Faith’N’Courage will head to the Carbine Club Plate on Derby Day.”

Progressive Snippetson three year-old Another Concerto scored her third win from nine starts when saluting in the open three year-old event over 1400 metres.

Prepared by Charlie Goggin and Luella Meaburn, Another Concerto was foaled and raised at Yarraman and is a half-sister to stakes-placed I Am Magic from Miss Schumann, a daughter of stakes-winner Dallaeni.

Making it a double for Prime was the Foreplay filly Faith’n’Courage, who scored a tenacious half head win in the open three year-old event over 1100 metres.

Also trained by Charlie Goggin and Luella Meaburn, Faith’n’Courage has been a model of consistency winning twice and placing five times from just seven starts.

One of two winners from the Rubiton mare Red Centre, Faith’n’Courage is a half-sister to a horse that Prime Thoroughbreds have had a lot of fun with in Too Many Reds.

A five year-old son of Magic Albert, Too Many Reds has won seven races and been stakes-placed on several occasions, most recently just after Christmas and has won over $170,000 in prizemoney.

“Joe has been a great client of the farm over the years and we are happy to sell him a few good types straight out of the paddock each year,” said Harry Mitchell.

“It’s worked out very well for him and we’re always delighted to see them come out and win.”
