Melbourne, March 11 – Classy fillies Sharnee Rose and Bliss Street didn’t quite win at Flemington on Saturday, but both Yarraman Park sold fillies did enough to suggest they are in for fruitful autumn campaigns.

Australia’s best maiden, Sharnee Rose failed by a nose to overhaul talented gelding Instalment in the Listed VRC MSS Security Stakes adding another frustrating second to her resume.

Trained by Matt Ellerton and Simon Zahra for Barry and Midge Griffiths, Sharnee Rose was a gallant third to Atlantic Jewel and Mosheen in the Group I MRC Thousand Guineas in the spring and has the overall record of four seconds and two thirds from six starts with prizemoney topping $97,000.

A $40,000 purchase from the Yarraman Park draft during Session II at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Sharnee Rose was bred by Shadwell Australia and foaled and raised at Yarraman.

She is by Nadeem from Farasha, a half-sister by Jeune (GB) to the dam of Group I winner Rewaaya from the family of Snippets and Forensics.

Also knocking on the door of another feature win is three year-old Flying Spur filly Bliss Street, who turned in a great effort to run third in the Group II VRC Kewney Stakes behind Empress Rock.

Bliss Street was purchased by her trainer Dan Morton from the draft of Yarraman Park Stud for $100,000 at the 2010 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and has won four races and over $378,000 in prizemoney with highlight wins in the Group III WATC Sires Produce Stakes and MRC Guineas Prelude .

Bliss Street was also bred by Yarraman Park and partners and is the first stakes-winner for the stakes winning Jade Robbery (USA) mare Jade Diva, whose two year-old is the smart stakes-placed Sydney filly Jade Marauder.

Yarraman Park will present a top class draft of 25 youngsters for the 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
