Adelaide, December 8 – Three year-old Foreplay filly Simply Delightful broke her maiden at her second start at Gawler on Wednesday for the powerful Mark Kavanagh stable providing a timely update for her yearling half-brother, who will be offered by Yarraman Park at the 2012 Magic Millions in January.

She jumped well and quickly moved forward to lead, then kicked away in the straight before holding off all challengers to score a determined win.

A homebred for Yarraman Park, Simply Delightful is the first foal of well bred import Simply Enchanting (USA), a placed half-sister by Forest Wildcat to Group II winner Shaniko and daughter of another US Group II winner in Sapphire ‘n Silk.

Simply Enchanting is the dam of a yearling colt by Casino Prince, who will be offered by Yarraman as Lot 308 at the Gold Coast.

She produced her third foal this spring, a colt by Dane Shadow and is now safely in foal to Yarraman Park’s new recruit Hinchinbrook.

The mating is an interesting one as it will produce a youngster bred on a similar cross to this season’s high class three year-old colt Foxwedge, who is by Fastnet Rock (sire of Hinchinbrook) from a daughter of Forest Wildcat, who is also the sire of Simply Enchanting.
