Hong Kong, March 11 – The John Size trained Magic Albert three year-old G-One Winning kept his perfect record intact at Sha Tin on Saturday when he made it three wins in as many starts with a stylish victory.
Stepping up to Class Three company, G-One Winning was ridden a perfect race by Douglas Whyte settling third and then striding clear early in the straight to take the 1400 metre event by a length.
“He’s still learning and needs more experience but only racing can give him that,” Size said.
“He’s green and awkward but when he gets to something a bit better than today’s race, there’ll be a bit more speed and he’ll be able to relax behind horses instead of being in front so early.”
G-One Winning was bred by Rosari Farm up in Queensland and was sold as weanling at the Gold Coast for $30,000 before being re-offered for sale by Wellfield Lodge at the 2010 NZB Select Yearling Sale where he fetched $100,000.
G-One Winning is a half-brother to South African Group III winner Queen’s Command and is one of three winners from the Unbridled’s Song (USA) mare Judicial Queen.
