Sydney, August 12 – Magic Albert featured at Canterbury on Wednesday with progressive four year-old Bottled Up scoring his first metropolitan win for the Pat Farrell stable.
A last start winner at Wyong by six and a half lengths, Bottled Up made a smooth transition to metro class, settling just behind the leaders for Peter Robl before dashing home to win the 1200 metre restricted event by a length and a half.
A modest $9,000 purchase for his trainer from the Ferndale Farm draft at the 2008 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, Bottled Up has won three races and placed nine times from 18 starts earning $60,150 in prizemoney.
Bottled Up is one of five winners from the Squill (USA) mare Sandakan, a half-sister to Group One VRC Oaks winner Sandy’s Pleasure.
Magic Albert has started the new season well with Bottled Up his fourth winner since August 1.
