Yarraman Park’s champion sire I Am Invincible provided the star of the show at Magic Millions on Thursday when the Newgate Farm consigned colt from Suspicieuse (Fr) sold for $1.9million to Tom Magnier.

A half-brother to Group II winner Dubious, who is now at stud for Aquis, the star colt is the third foal of stakes-placed Suspicieuse (Fr), who was bought privately by James Harron a few years ago when carrying this colt and is based at Newgate.

“He’s a lovely horse,” Tom Magnier said.

“The team at Newgate need no introduction, they know how to breed good horses.”

“He’s a lovely type and we know how good Dubious was.

“Most people had him picked as the sale topper and it looks like he could do that – we are just so delighted to get him.

“We have a great team here at the sales, going around to pick the horses and everyone landed on this horse.

“He will go to Chris Waller and hopefully we have a bit of luck.”

Earlier in the day I Am Invincible enjoyed seven figure success when Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott combined with Go Bloodstock to buy the colt from Silently for $1million.

Bred and offered for sale by Yarraman Park, he is a half-brother to South African Group III winner Muwaary and three other winners from stakes-winning Anabaa (USA) mare Silently, a daughter of Go Bloodstock’s blue hen Mica’s Pride.

Retired from stud duties last year, Group III winner Mica’s Pride has left 11 winners highlighted by $7million earning four time Group I winner Criterion, Group I winner Comin’ Through and Group II winner Varenna Miss.

Silently has another colt to follow by I Am Invincible and was covered last spring by Wootton Bassett (GB).

I Am Invincible has had four million dollar yearlings at this sale so far including both the top colt and top filly as we head into the final two sessions of Book 1.

He is also leading the sire by aggregate with his stock generating over $17million in trade.
