Sydney, October 20 – Magic Albert gelding Too Many Reds ran the race of his life at Randwick on Saturday, going down by a short half head to Famous Seamus in the Listed Tatts Lightning Stakes.
The Prime Thoroughbreds owned six year-old had been in hot form in Brisbane this preparation for the Tony Gollan stable and ran right up to expectations in going down by a whisker.
Formerly prepared in Tasmania, Too Many Reds has been thriving in the Queensland sunshine and is in career best form.
Bought privately from the paddock at Yarraman Park by Joe O’Neill of Prime Thoroughbreds as a weanling, Too Many Reds has been a terrific money-spinner for his owners winning 10 races from 31 starts and close to $300,000 in prizemoney.
Too Many Reds is from the Rubiton mare Red Centre, a daughter of stakes-placed Land of Dreams.
Red Centre has a yearling filly by Magic Albert and produced a colt foal by the same sire in August.
