Melbourne, January 23 – Improving Fastnet Rock filly Fast Talker made it two wins from her last three starts when scoring a tenacious victory in the open three year-old fillies event at Sandown on Saturday for the Lee Freedman stable.

Mentioned three times in the stewards report at her previous start for striking interference before finishing a close third at the same track on January 6, Fast Talker made amends for that by racing forward for Jason Maskiel, staying out of trouble and boxing on strongly to score at her first attempt at 1400 metres.

"She’s a real fighter and it was a great ride from Jason," Freedman’s foreman Sam Pritchard-Gordon said.

A $320,000 purchase for BBA Ireland from the Yarraman Park draft at the 2008 Magic Millions Yearling Sale, Fast Talker was stakes-placed in Adelaide twice last preparation so has a good measure of ability and has already returned connections some $109,127 in prizemoney.

Fast Talker is the first foal of stakes-winning Distorted Humor (USA) mare Crystal Wit, a half-sister to the dam of this season’s top class three year-old Carrara.

A full sister to Fast Talker is among the Yarraman Park entries for the 2010 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
