Perth, November 5 – Fresh from siring a Group I winner at Flemington in Albert the Fat, Magic Albert was also in hot form in the West where Ron’s Call emerged as the horse to beat in the upcoming WA Guineas after he demolished his rivals to win the Listed WATC Fairetha Stakes over 1400 metres at Ascot.

Ridden just behind the leaders, Ron’s Call (pictured courtesy www.perthracing.com.au) gained an inside run approaching the turn and quickly dashed away to win the Black Type event by a commanding four lengths.

The exciting three-year-old has now strung together four straight wins for in form Ascot based trainer Simon Miller.

“That was very rewarding today,” Miller said.

“I’ve always had a big wrap on this horse. Everything he does is very freakish at home.

“He’s still a work in progress and if we could ride him a few pairs back, he’d be even better again – he’s got a dynamic sprint.”

Ron’s Call is raced by former Fremantle Dockers AFL champion Peter Bell and his good friend and business partner Ray Meadowcroft.

The exciting three-year-old was purchased for $36,000 from the 2009 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale by renowned Melbourne based bloodstock agent Damon Gabbedy, buying under his Belmont Bloodstock Agency.

Bred by Patinack Farm, Ron’s Call is from the unraced Red Ransom (USA) mare Kooroora Blue, a half sister to multiple Melbourne stakes winner Torumba.

Ron’s Call is the 14th stakes-winner for Magic Albert, who is running eighth on the Australian Generals Sires List by earnings with 40 winners of $2million in prizemoney including four stakes-winners this season  – Albert the Fat, Ron’s Call, Tai Tai Tess and Isopach.
