Yarraman Park’s champion sire I Am Invincible posted a trans-Tasman stakes double with Festivity successful in New Zealand and then exciting mare Marabi made it five wins from five starts when taking out the Listed MRC Christmas Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield.

Brought through her grades patiently by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, five year-old Marabi has rarely found any opposition to keep pace with her.

In four previous starts at Pakenham, Ballarat and twice at Moonee Valley, Marabi has won by a collective 22 ½ lengths, well and truly earning a crack at Black Type company.

Marabi shot clear for Jamie Kah with a furlong to run and opened up a margin with top class mare Away Game surging late to run her to half a length.

“She is so naturally quick and does it so easily, which is the most exciting part of it as she just gaps her rivals and she’s done it again today, so onwards and upwards,” said David Eustace, who indicated the Group I MRC Oakleigh Plate would be her immediate goal.

A homebred for Greg Perry, Marabi has banked nearly $250,000 in prizemoney and is a half-sister to Group I VRC Oaks winner Aristia from Group II winning Tiger Hill (IRE) mare Nakaaya, who died in 2020.

She is the 71st stakes-winner for I Am Invincible, who has 54 entries for Magic Millions.
