Sydney, February 23 – Former outstanding racemare Magical Miss featured at Canterbury on Wednesday when her three year-old daughter Sables broke through for her first metropolitan success for Darley and Peter Snowden.

A $300,000 purchase for Darley from the Inglis Easter draft of Yarraman Park, Sables relished the 1900 metres, improving on a last start second to score a short neck win.

A daughter of Darley shuttler Elusive Quality (USA), Sables was bred by the Wyllie Group and is the third winner for dual Group I winner Magical Miss, who has had three foals to race and all have won led by ill-fated stakes-placed colt Weasley, who may well have gone on to win a stakes race if he had not gone to the big racecourse in the sky before his time.

Yarraman Park sold a Hussonet (USA) filly from Magical Miss at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale last year for $270,000, but the mare has no yearling for sales in 2011, although did produce a filly by More Than ready (USA) last spring.

Yarraman Park will offer another sensational draft of yearlings at the 2011 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and to see the draft click here.
