Sydney, June 5 – Promising Magic Albert gelding Daintree Road resumed from a spell at Rosehill on Satur day to score a determined win for the Gai Waterhouse stable.

With three barrier trials under his belt, Daintree Road was sent out in sharp order and proved too strong in a driving finish to win the Benchmark 80 event over 1350 metres by a nose.

A homebred for well known owner/breeder Yvonne Smith, Daintree Road has won six races and placed three times from 14 starts earning in excess of $150,000 with the promise of more to come.

Foaled and raised at Yarraman Park for his breeder, Daintree Road is the first foal of unplaced Fasliyev (USA) mare Sunset Boulevard and is one of 88 Australian winners this season for Magic Albert.

Sunset Boulevard was one of 133 mares covered last spring by the Yarraman new recruit I Am Invincible.
