Sydney, April 13 – Yarraman Park enjoyed excellent results at the 2007 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale with 14 yearlings fetching $5,620,000, the star performer a full sister to champion filly Alinghi that made $1.4 million.
By Encosta de Lago from Oceanfast, the stylish bay filly is also a full sister to last year’s sale-topping filly Perfect Persuasion, who made $2.6 million, an Australian record price for a filly that was unchallenged at Easter this year.
This year’s filly was secured by bloodstock agent Tim Stakemire acting for Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, Stakemire already familiar with the family having purchased the King Charlemagne (USA) colt from Oceanfast at Easter in 2005 for $525,000, that colt now racing successfully as Musaytir.
Other highlights for Yarraman this year were the Redoute’s Choice colt from Sakhalin (USA) that made $700,000 to the bid of Tim Martin and a lovely Encosta de Lago filly from Desert End (USA) that was snapped up by Woodlands Stud for $700,000.
The focus will now move to the Inglis Australian Select Broodmare Sale where Yarraman Park will present over 20 mares highlighted by dual Group One winner Virage de Fortune, being offered as a racing and breeding proposition.
