Just when you thought the fireworks at the Gold Coast were over for the day Yarraman Park’s champion sire I Am Invincible produced his second million dollar yearling of the sale when his colt from Group I winner Spright sold for $1.6million.
Consigned by Cressfield and bred in partnership with Robrick Lodge Thoroughbreds, the colt was purchased by Tom Magnier and is the second foal of Hinchinbrook mare Spright, who won the Group I SAJC Robert Sangster Stakes and placed in a further three Group I races earning over $1.3million in prizemoney.
Tom Magnier is hoping he has secured another Home Affairs and this colt will go to his trainer Chris Waller.
“He’s a lovely colt and thanks to the team at Cressfield. They had this horse looking great,” said Magnier.
“They’re great supporters of the farm as well as for us we’re looking for the next Home Affairs. I Am Invincible is an unbelievable stallion and this colt has a real stallions pedigree and the whole team thought he was a stand out on the grounds and we’re delighted to secure this colt for our syndicate.
“Home Affairs had a huge season this year. He was a huge hit at stud. We’re obviously very happy with how the season went. Fingers crossed we’ll find another one with this fellow.”
Spright has another filly by I Am Invincible to follow and is back in foal to him again.
After the first two sessions, I Am Invincible has had 22 yearlings sell for $12.9million to be leading sire by aggregate.
