A super successful 2019 Magic Millions Yearling Sale produced records all round with Yarraman Park achieving a unique double of being the leading vendor by aggregate and average.

Yarraman Park sold 27 yearlings for $11,595,000 at an average price of $429,444 and putting the icing on the cake on Saturday night was the sale-topping colt from Oakleigh Girl that made $1.7 million.

Bred by Steve and Louise Gillard and foaled and raised at Yarraman Park, the star colt was bought by Kennewell Rcg/Group One Bstock/Aquis/Ozzie Kheir.

Melbourne trainer Lloyd Kennwell has already tasted success with I Am Invincible having purchased and trained his Group I winner Viddora and also this season’s exciting two year-old Jedastar.

“I thought he was the best colt in the sale obviously,” Kennewell said. “We thought he would pass the million, but we didn’t know where he would stop.

“He’s the sort of horse who looks ideal for the race next year – or races like the Blue Diamond and Golden Slipper.

“He was clearly the top pick for me – I thought he was the best colt on the complex and we wanted to go really big with one this year and we put a good crew together to do it and I think it’s worked out well.

“It’s led by Ozzie Kheir and hopefully we can continue on and get a really good result with this horse. I think he’s a horse who will have a really good two-year-old career.

“I know the breed very well and he’s one of the best colts I’ve seen by I Am Invincible and hopefully we can get the right result with him.”

He is the second foal of Group III winning Snitzel mare Oakleigh Girl, who was second in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic and is a daughter of Group I winner Miss Kournikova.

She was covered again by I Am Invincible last spring.

Yarraman Park sold three million dollar yearlings by I Am Invincible with a colt from Tai Tai Tess fetching $1.3 million and a filly from Rose of Choice making $1million.

Much missed Hinchinbrook also proved his worth with fillies from Tetsuko and Meliora selling for $800,000 and $600,000.

I Am Invincible was the leading sire by aggregate with 55 yearlings selling for $24,345,000 at an average $442,636, while Hinchinbrook had 21 yearlings average $274,524.

Yarraman Park congratulate all purchasers of our horses and wish everyone the best of luck going forward.
