The 2018 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale started with a bang for I Am Invincible with a stunning colt from Eye for Fun fetching $1,050,000 on Monday at Riverside Stables.

Consigned by Fairview Park, the half-brother to Golden Slipper winner Mossfun was knocked down to a partnership of Adrian Bott / Gai Waterhouse / Blue Sky Bloodstock.

“On the market, with a number of horses making over $1,000,000 today, I think he was well bought from our perspective,” Julian Blaxland of Blue Sky Bloodstock told ANZ News.

“I Am Invincible is going from strength to strength and he is a half-brother to a Golden Slipper winner. He was a magnificent physical and we were delighted to get the horse for that money.”

The Fairview Park team were delighted with the result.

“We are over the moon, she has been a great really mare for us. It is the culmination of a lot of hard work from everyone at the farm, but I’m particularly pleased for my wife Linda, she just lives and breathes the horses,” Ian Duckworth told ANZ News.

“The result was a dream for such a small farm and it’s just an amazing result for a small family owned property.

“He sold himself – he was an outstanding colt. We had everything line up, he was by I Am Invincible and out of a Snitzel mare and the half-brother won a stakes race in Singapore last weekend and when things like that are aligned, it’s nice to get a result. I’m so proud of Linda to achieve a lot for a million dollars is a dream.”

Fairview Park sold Mossfun at this sale for $85,000 back in 2013 and then had a great result the following year selling a Magic Albert colt from Eye for Fun for $750,000.

I Am Invincible had 10 yearlings sell in the first session for an average $535,500.
