Champion sire I Am Invincible hit the ground running at Magic Millions on Tuesday, producing the highest-priced filly of the opening session, and his eight yearlings sold averaged $631,250.
Nine-time G1-winning Fastnet Rock mare Avantage was a champion on the racetrack, and her progeny are proving highly desirable in the sale ring with her third foal, a lovely filly by I Am Invincible, selling for $1,050,000.
Consigned by Coolmore, the filly was purchased by Glentree Thoroughbreds/Badgers Bloodstock.
“She did everything we look for in a filly. She’s a really good physical, beautiful mover and out of a multiple Stakes winner – a phenomenal racehorse. She ticks a lot of boxes for our program going forward,” said Luke Simpson, stud manager for Glentree Thoroughbreds.
“We’re looking to get a racing career out of her, and hopefully she can step up to some of mum’s form and then join our broodmare band going forward.”
“There are a couple of other fillies we have our eye on, but this was our main target, so we’re delighted to secure her.”
A superstar racemare and now star producer, Avantage was raced by Te Akau Racing during her long and glittering racing career and purchased on retirement by Tom Magnier for $4.1 million through Gavelhouse Online in NZ.
I Am Invincible also had big results with colts from Alassio and Calaverite selling for $950,000 and $875,000, respectively, to Ciaron Maher Bloodstock/David Redvers Bloodstock and PR Thoroughbreds.
