Wyong, May 2 – Australia’s leading first season sire I Am Invincible posted his 11th first crop winner when the Paul Perry trained Leavesden saluted at Wyong on Thursday.
Improving sharply on his unplaced debut last month, Leavesden did best in a tight finish to win by half a head over 1000 metres.
A $38,000 Inglis Scone Yearling Sale purchase for his trainer from the Yarraman Park draft, Leavesden is the first winner for Halo Halo, a half-sister by Lonhro to stakes-winner Happy Gladiator and grand-daughter of Group III winner Will Fly.
Halo Halo has a yearling colt and weanling filly also by I am Invincible, so the win of Leavesden is a good result.
I Am Invincible is the leading first season sires by earnings, winners and stakes-winners in Australia with 11 winners overall, 10 in Australia.
The exciting son of champion sire Invincible Spirit has had a fee increase for this year and will stand at Yarraman Park at a fee of $27,500 this spring.
