New Zealand, January 31 – Magic Albert had just one entry in the 2012 NZB Premier Yearling Sale, but he made quite a splash at the New Zealand showcase when selling for $220,000 on Monday.
Consigned for sale by Ascot Farm, the powerful chestnut colt from Flying Spur mare Hearth was knocked down to the Magic Bloodstock Racing Syndicate.
A very successful pinhook for Ascot Farm having been purchased by Michael Wallace Bloodstock for $71,000 at the 2011 Inglis Australian Select Weanling Sale, the colt is from a three-quarter sister to Hong Kong Derby winner Super Satin and comes from the family of another Hong Kong Derby winner in Johan Cruyff as well as European Group I winner Spartacus.
