South Africa, January 3 – Yarraman Park were delighted to see results from South Africa overnight featuring a win at Vaal for their $3million Easter sale topper Nodoubt Deja.

Having his third race start for the Charles Laird stable after placing at his two previous outings, Nodoubt Deja appreciated the step up to 1400 metres, racing handy throughout and then moving to the lead with a furlong to run.

Despite racing greenly over the concluding stages and proving a handful for his jockey, Nodoubt Deja had too much on his rivals and scored by a length.

Raced by Mr and Mrs Marcus Jooste, Nodoubt Deja was secured for them by Charles Laird for a record setting $3million at the 2006 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, which was a record price for a yearling sold in Australia at that time (since equaled at Easter last year).

Bred and offered for sale by Yarraman Park, Nodoubt Deja is by champion sire Redoute’s Choice from the Slew O’Gold mare Deja Slew (USA), whose previous offspring include stakes-placed performers Top Slice and Bull Market.

Deja Slew (USA) has a yearling filly by ill-fated Golden Slipper winner Catbird and produced a filly foal to Fastnet Rock in mid October.
