The equal highest priced filly on the second day of the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale was Yarraman Park’s Hellbent filly from top producer Rose of Mulan that sold for $400,000.
A half-sister to brilliant Group II winner Shades of Rose and Group III winner Scallopini, the star filly was bred by Steve Gillard and was purchased by Bruce Mackenzie.
“Have a look at the page, look at the filly,” he told ANZ Bloodstock News.
“Look at the body, look at the potential, look at the residual value if she wins a stakes race.
“She’s not a two-year-old, because I don’t start two-year-olds. I’ve never started a two-year-old in my life, [and] I’ve won about 195 races with Oakfields.”
Rose of Mulan is now in foal to I Am Invincible and her glamour daughter Shades of Rose will be offered by Yarraman at the Broodmare Sale next week as Lot 638.
Another Hellbent filly to sell exceptionally well was the Baramul Stud consigned filly from Rose of Savannah that made $150,000 to the bid of Belmont Bloodstock.
