The Inglis Premier Yearling Sale was quickly into top gear on Monday morning with a Vinery Stud consigned colt by champion sire I Am Invincible selling for $700,000.
The first foal of Group I New Zealand One Thousand Guineas winner Risque was snapped up by Busuttin Racing.
“He’s the right type of colt, he looks a runner, looks a 2YO, he’s got all the attributes everyone wants and he’s out of a Group 1-winning mare, so he was never going to go cheap,’’ said Trent Busuttin.
“They don’t miss them, not here this week. You’ve just got to pay for them.”
Risque was bought out of New Zealand as a tried horse by Seymour Bloodstock’s Darren Thomas and Neil Werrett and she placed in the Group I VRC Australian Guineas behind Palentino and Tarzino here before eventually retiring to stud.
After two sessions, I Am Invincible is leading the sire averages with six yearlings averaging $325,000.
