Melbourne, October 5 – Lightly raced Catbird four-year old Jennings resumed from a spell to take out the Class Six event at the metropolitan meeting at Werribee in Victoria on Wednesday.

Jennings has always shown the sort of ability to indicate a stakes win could be within his scope and judging by this strong finishing victory he might be on the verge of realizing that potential.

Prepared by Mike Moroney, Jennings has had eight starts for three wins and two placings earning $64,750 for his American based owners, Mr and Mrs Lindsey Williams.

Bred and offered for sale by Yarraman Park Stud, Jennings fetched $80,000 at the 2004 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and is the ninth foal of the Imposing mare Wycombe (NZ), a half-sister to highly successful sires Danewin and Commands.

Jennings is the second metropolitan winner in less than a week for prolific sire Catbird, joining Saturday’s runaway Randwick winner Cateclipse.
