Connections of talented Hellbent filly Savvy Hallie breathed a sigh of relief after the multiple stakes-placed filly finally secured her maiden victory with a dazzling display at Newcastle on Thursday.
The Brad Widdup-trained Savvy Hallie recorded three placed efforts from her four starts last season, ending her season with a second in the $1 million G2 ATC Percy Sykes Stakes.
She was a short-priced favourite resuming from a spell over 900m and gave nothing else a chance under Jay Ford when clearing out to win by five and a half lengths.

Sold through the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale draft of Baramul Stud for $150,000 to Belmont Bloodstock Agency, the filly was then re-offered at the Inglis Classic yearling sale, where current owner B K Racing & Breeding Pty Ltd went to $320,000.
She is the second winner from Rose of Savannah, a granddaughter of dual G1 winner Savannah Success, dam of champion sire Savabeel.
Savvy Hallie will no doubt be heading back to stakes company with a spring in her step!
