Adelaide, January 7 – Catbird colt Brunei Tale proved too good for his odds on favourite stablemate Raboob, when he saluted by the best part of a length in the open two year-old event at Morphettville on Saturday.

Trained by David Hayes, Brunei Tale fetched $85,000 at the 2006 Magic Millions Yearling Sale from the draft of Cressfield Stud as agent and is a full brother to smart Sydney metropolitan winner Off and Gone.

Their dam Smytzer’s Roylani has been a regular visitor to Catbird in recent years and her current yearling, a filly by Catbird, is among 15 of his youngsters that have been catalogued for the 2007 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

Golden Slipper winner Catbird is also poised for a bumper Magic Millions Yearling Sale later this week with 31 of his best offspring slated for sale including six to be offered by Yarraman Park.
