Italy, June 19 – The win of four year-old Peintre Celebre entire Sudan in the Group One Gran Premio Di Milano in Italy at the weekend proved a great result for Yarraman Park as they own the a three-quarter sister to his dam.

Trained by Ellie Lellouche, Sudan has won two races and placed five times from 11 starts and was recently sold to Gary Tanaka and will now head to Newmarket to join the stable of Michael Jarvis before eventually being shipped to America.

Sudan is from the Woodman mare Sarabande, a three-quarter sister to the Yarraman owned Kingmambo mare Sakhalin (USA), who has kicked off her stud career in promising fashion.

Her first two foals, a colt and filly by Catbird made $90,000 and $140,000 respectively when offered at Magic Millions and the NZB Premier Yearling Sale, and both are now metropolitan winners named Muzzio and Miss Meerkat.

The third foal of Sakhalin (USA) is a yearling colt by Redoute’s Choice that made $700,000 at the 2007 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and was knocked down to Tim Martin.

Sakhalin (USA) has a weanling colt by Catbird and is in foal to the young Vinery Stud based sire Mossman.
