Melbourne, September 14 – The fruitful association between Victorian syndicators Slade Bloodstock and Yarraman Park continued at Mornington on Thursday when improving colt Moment of Truth careered away for an easy win in the 1500 metre maiden.

A $100,000 purchase for Slade from the Yarraman Park draft at the 2006 Magic Millions Yearling Sale, Moment of Truth scored by the best part of three lengths at his second run back from a spell, coasting to the line under hands and heels riding.

With a win and two placings from five starts, the Lee Freedman trained Moment of Truth is a promising type on an upward spiral and is entered in all the major spring events for three year-olds.

A good-looking grey by the Highest Honor horse Verglas (IRE), who shuttled to Western Australia for two seasons, Moment of Truth was bred by WA based Roburke Pty Ltd, but was raised at Yarraman Park and offered in their draft at the Gold Coast showcase in January.

He is the fifth foal of the Danehill (USA) mare Lady Danna, the dam of four winners led by three-time Group One winner Barley a Moment, a high class winner of four races and $1.2 million in prizemoney, now at stud in South Australia at Lindsay Park.

Lady Danna produced a colt by Shamardal (USA) last spring, is in foal to Dubawi (IRE), and her yearling filly by Elusive Quality (USA) sold exceptionally well for Yarraman Park at the 2007 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale fetching $425,00 to the bid of Tim Stakemire.

Moment of Truth is one of a number of winning gallopers for Slade Bloodstock that have been purchased from Yarraman drafts at various sales.

This Saturday’s Group One aspirant Here de Angels heads the list having been purchased for $90,000 at the 2005 Magic Millions Yearling Sale, while other notable Slade purchases from Yarraman include Vankedsisi, Anhinga and Miss Meerkat.
