Melbourne, October 2 – Improving Catbird filly Vankedisi made every post a winner at Moe on Monday when she romped away to score a facile win in the restricted event over 1014 metres.
Sent out favourite on the strength of her last start four length win in a maiden plate on the same track, the Lee Freedman trained Vankedisi lived up to expectation in saluting by the best part of five lengths.
A full sister to Group Three placed Anhinga, Vankedisi is clearly on the improve and can easily progress further this spring for her Slade Bloodstock syndicate of owners.
A $150,000 purchase for Slade Bloodstock at the 2006 Magic Millions Yearling Sale, Vankedisi was bred and offered for sale by Yarraman Park.
She is from the good metropolitan winning Crested Wave (USA) mare Rippling Mill, who was covered again by Catbird last season and produced a colt on September 9.
Slade Bloodstock have had some good results with Yarraman sold yearlings having won with Vankedisi, Anhinga, Moment of Truth and Miss Meerkat as well as Group Three winning sprinter Here de Angels.
