South Africa, November 22 – Ill-fated Golden Slipper winner Catbird featured in South Africa during the week when four year-old mare Her Ladyship took out a ratings handicap for fillies and mares over 1950 metres at Scottsville on Wednesday.
It was the second win for the Dennis Drier trained mare, who scored by two and a half lengths with Glyn Schofield in the saddle.
Bred by Yarraman Park, Her Ladyship was withdrawn from the 2005 Magic Millions Yearling Sale and later sold privately and exported to South Africa.
She is the tenth and final foal of the Sovereign Edition (IRE) mare Lady Blandford (NZ) who died in 2005, leaving eight winners including quality Group Three winning mare Tripping and stakes-placed Concitare.
Catbird’s final crop of foals are arriving this spring and include siblings to some of his best horses in Diego Garcia and Star Cat.
