South Africa, December 13 – The Charles Laird stable featured at Vaal in South Africa last week winning a 1600 metre maiden with three year-old colt High Speed Rush, a $100,000 purchase from the Yarraman Park draft at the 2006 Magic Millions Yearling Sale.

By Danehill Dancer (IRE) from Go Hayley Go, High Speed Rush was making just his second race start, having made his debut over the same distance back in September.

Foaled and raised at Yarraman Park for breeder Tim Hughes, High Speed Rush is the second foal of the Centaine mare Go Hayley Go,a daughter of Group Three winner Sneetch from the family of Group One winners Tully Thunder and Sandy’s Pleasure.

The family has had a real kick along in recent times with new stakes-winners this spring in New Zealand based colt Rios and smart Lee Freedman trained filly Belcentra.

Go Hayley Go was sold earlier this year at the Inglis Broodmare Sale with New Zealand Bloodstock securing her for $46,000 and she has since been exported to New Zealand.
