Sydney/Brisbane, February 13 – Ill-fated Golden Slipper winner Catbird was in the winners list on Wednesday with a two state metropolitan double after Litter won at Randwick and Notadrama scored at Doomben.

Smart mare Litter has been a source of some frustration for connections during her last two campaigns in posting a string of second placings, but she put the best foot forward when resuming from a spell, charging home to win the Ratings 81 mares event by half a length.

Passed in at the 2004 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Litter has gone on to win three races and place nine times from 17 starts for the Kris Lees stable earning $92,030 in prizemoney.

Litter is a half-sister to stakes-placed Golden Oasis being from the Chromite mare Alkimiya (USA).

Trained at Toowoomba by Tony Sears, four year-old mare Notadrama won the Class Three event for fillies and mares over 1110 metres, improving off a last start second at Ipswich.

Bred and offered for sale by Yarraman Park, Notadrama was a $52,500 purchase from the 2005 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale and is from the Forest Glow (USA) mare Melodrama, a half-sister to Group Three winner Ghost Story.

Catbird is enjoying a great season with his runners, having sired over 50 winners since August 1 to put him in fourth place on the leadings sires list by individual winners.

Catbird has two yearlings to be offered at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale and 16 catalogued for Magic Millions on the Gold Coast.
