Sydney, June 17 – Yarraman Park are delighted to hear of the progress being made by star filly Amelia’s Dream, who will continue her rehabilitation at Muskoka Farm following a prolonged stay at Randwick Equine resulting from her breakdown in the Group Two STC Silver Slipper Stakes on March 15.

Foaled and raised at Yarraman, Amelia’s Dream was purchased from the Yarraman draft at the 2007 Magic Millions Yearling Sale for $250,000 by her trainer Gai Waterhouse.

In just two starts, Amelia’s Dream showed freakish ability to win by nine lengths on debut and then six lengths in the Silver Slipper earning her favouritism for the Golden Slipper.

After the race, a severe injury was revealed with Amelia’s Dream rushed to Randwick Equine where she has been ever since.

Amelia’s Dream suffered what has been termed as a "non-displaced fracture of the sesamoid".

According to trainer Gai Waterhouse’s website, radiographs taken by Dr Chris O’Sullivan last Thursday revealed the injury is healing well.

“The most recent radiographs taken on the 12th of June show definite evidence that the fracture is healing with a boney union, both fracture lines are filling in with bone,” the website reported.

“At this stage the prognosis for bony healing of the sesamoid is good and the joint is not showing signs of any progressive arthritis.

“Provided the bone continues to heal without complication the prognosis for racing is considered fair.”

Amelia’s Dream’s breeders elected to sell her dam Shalt Not at the recent Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale with Yarraman consigning her on their behalf to make $1,050,000 to the bid of Marcus Corban acting for Sir Patrick Hogan of Cambridge Stud.
