Brisbane, July 20 – In-form Choisir three year-old Simplest maintained his current good form when proving too strong in the restricted event over 1000 metres at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

Originally a $100,000 Magic Millions purchase from the draft of Yarraman Park Stud, Simplest is now trained at Eagle Farm by Barry Baldwin, having been sold by his previous owner Lloyd Williams.

Since transferring to Queensland, Simplest has been on fire winning his last three starts in succession, his overall record now five wins and five placings from 14 starts with earnings of $102,500.

Bred by the Dufficy brothers and offered for sale by Yarraman Park as agent, Simplest is a half-brother to stakes-winner Given being the seventh foal of the Covetous mare Mad Desire.

A metropolitan winner up to 1400 metres, Mad Desire is a half-sister to Group Three winners Alert Me and Techniques, being from the family of Group One winning sprinters With Me and Accomplice.

Mad Desire has done a good job at stud, her current two year-old Infatuation ($250,000 Magic Millions colt by Encosta de Lago) is also a winner having scored at his second start for the David Hayes stable at Sandown on June 4.
