Sydney, April 6 – Highlighting the second session of the 2009 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale for Yarraman Park was a stylish grey Encosta de Lago colt from Virage that fetched $600,000.
A half-brother to dual Group One winner Virage de Fortune and five other winners, the colt was in keen demand with astute bloodstock agent James Bester securing the youngster.
Mr Bester is no stranger to the family having purchased Virage de Fortune on behalf of clients as a yearling back in 2004 for $70,000.
“There was no emotional attachment in buying this horse though,” Bester explained when interviewed on TVN’s live sales coverage.
“He is an outstanding individual and I see him as a slightly bigger version of a Racing to Win.”
