Goulburn, October 16 – A homebred for Yarraman Park, two year-old Fastnet Rock filly Dejavu Rock looks to have her share of ability after winning on debut at Goulburn on Friday as a short priced favourite.

Raced by the Yarraman Park Stud Syndicate and trained by Michael Wallace, Dejavu Rock jumped well and mustered speed quickly to lead and after being headed in the straight fought back to win the 1000 metre maiden by a nose from the strong finishing colt Matarie, a son of first season sire Snippetson.

Dejavu Rock is a half-sister to stakes-placed Top Slice and Bull Market being from the handy producer Deja Slew (USA), who provided Yarraman with one of their greatest highlights in the sale ring when her colt by Redoute’s Choice topped the 2006 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

Knocked down to Charles Laird for $3million, the colt was exported to South Africa and later won a race under the name of Nodoubt Deja.

Dejavu Rock is the second juvenile winner this season for Fastnet Rock joining Listed AJC Gimcrack Stakes winner Gybe, while his two year-old son Ebony Rock, made a good impression at Caulfield during the week finishing third in the Listed MRC Debutants Stakes.

Yarraman Park have been strong supporters of Fastnet Rock, so have been delighted with his burgeoning success.
