Brisbane, July 31 – The open three year-old event at Doomben on Saturday was won by the Trevor Bailey trained Carlton Forward, a $65,000 Magic Millions purchase from the draft of Yarraman Park.

Having his second start for his new trainer, Carlton Forward powered home to take the 1200 metre event by the best part of a length, his prizemoney now up to $131,747.

Stakes –placed at two, Carlton Forward was bred by Yarraman Park and is by Charge Forward from stakes-placed Carlton Ace, a half-sister by Bianconi (USA) to stakes-winner Carlton Spirit.

Carlton Ace has been a good producer so far for Yarraman Park with Carlton Forward followed by a Catbird filly that made $220,000 at Magic Millions in 2009, followed by a Magic Albert filly that made $110,000 at Magic Millions this year to the bid of Grahame Begg.

Carlton Ace has another filly to come by Magic Albert and is due to foal to Dane Shadow.
