Melbourne, March 19 – Australia’s leading first season sire I Am Invincible added a new metropolitan winner to his ever growing tally when the Robert Smerdon trained filly Lexgetreddy romped away to score easily at Sandown on Wednesday.

A stylish looking dark brown filly, Lexgetreddy jumped smartly for Craig Williams and sat outside the leader before surging to the lead with a furlong to run.

She dashed away over the concluding stages to take the 900 metre scamper by two lengths from a field that looked strong on paper and will produce its share of winners.

“Very impressive,” said stable representative Stuart Webb.

“She was well educated and did everything right. She’ll be even better when she gets to six and seven furlongs.

“She’s a very nice filly and can hopefully go on with it.”

A $42,000 Inglis Classic purchase for Aquanita Racing from the draft of Yarraman Park, Lexgetreddy runs for a large group of very happy stable clients.

Bred by Yarraman Park, Lexgetreddy is the fifth winner from five foals to race from Group II placed Lady Lexus, a Success Express (USA) mare from the family of champion two year-old Luskin Star.

Lady Lexus was one of 175 mares covered last spring by I Am Invincible, who has taken all before him this year both on the racetrack and in the sales ring.

Lexgetreddy is the ninth first crop winner for I Am Invincible, who has three stakes-winners on the board in Vinnie Eagle, Fuld’s Bet and Bassilique.

I Am Invincible has five entries for the 2014 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, three of them consigned by Yarraman Park, – click here to see them.
