Sydney, April 2 – Promising Fastnet Rock mare Bubbles ‘n’ Boats has had a few behavioural issues to sort through, but her innate talent has made it all worthwhile as we saw at Warwick Farm on Wednesday when she powered home to post her second win from just four starts.

Prepared by Chris Waller, Bubbles ‘n’ Boats jumped smartly, travelled sweetly just behind the leaders and surged clear to win the Benchmark 70 event over a mile by a length.

Waller lauded the horsemanship of fellow trainer Rick Worthington for turning the four year-old around as she has not always been the calm professional that went around today.

Waller revealed Bubbles’N’Boats was a troublesome horse early in her career which prompted Sydney’s leading trainer to seek out the expertise of Worthington, who was able to transform the problem child into a racehorse.

“We simply couldn’t get her to the barriers, let alone in them,” Waller said.

“We just couldn’t get her to the races and full credit to Rick Worthington, we sent her to him and he was the official trainer there for a while, he took her to the trials and just did so much work with her.

“He’s the guru with breaking in horses and dealing with these type of horses.

“He’s a fantastic horseman and I owe it to him after this.

“If you want a horse broken in or educated, there’s none better.”

A $425,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Ingham Bloodstock from the draft of Yarraman Park, Bubbles ‘n’ Boats was bred by the Dufficy brothers and is one of three winners from Champagnecharlotte (USA), a half-sister by Rahy to Group II winners Esteemed Friend and Badouizm.

Yarraman Park will present another quality draft of 13 yearlings at Inglis Easter next week including two by Fastnet Rock.
