New Zealand, May 31 – Australia’s leading first season sire I Am Invincible added a fifth stakes-winner to the tally when promising two year-old Leeds captured the Listed Castletown Stakes at Wanganui in New Zealand.
The dashing grey followed up on his last start win at Awapuni to take the 1200 metre sprint by a neck on a slow track and has now won two of three starts for Michael Breslin, who co-owns the progressive youngster.
“He’s going to have a break and then we’ll get him back and ready for the Wanganui Guineas,” Breslin said.
Bought from the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale in Sydney for $30,000 from the Little Wych draft, Leeds was bred by the Ovenstone family and is is from Peintre Celebre (USA) mare Swentre who comes from the family of Group II winner Le Zagaletta and Group II winner Swiftsynd, both eye-catching greys as is Leeds.
Leeds is the fifth stakes-winner for I Am Invincible joining Brazen Beau, Vinnie Eagle, Bassillique and Fuld’s Bet.
Yarraman Park have increased the service fee for I Am Invincible this year to $27,500 and the son of Invincible Spirit (IRE) has eight entries for the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale starting next Wednesday.
