Brisbane, May 31 – Yarraman Park based stalwart Magic Albert was in the frame at Eagle Farm on Saturday with a new stakes-winner after Aldini captured the Listed BRC Spear Chief Handicap.

A model of consistency, the David Kelly trained five year-old charged home to win the 1400 metre contest by a length, taking his overall record to six wins and 10 placings from 30 starts with prizemoney topping $164,000.

“I was thinking about taking him to the ($50,000) South Grafton Cup but we maybe have to rethink it now and see what else in on the program,” Kelly said after the race.

A $38,000 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale purchase form the draft of Yarraman Park, Aldini is the best of two winners from Ebbtide, a winning Spinning World (USA) daughter of stakes-winner Dipping.

Aldini is the 18th stakes-winner for Magic Albert, who stands this spring at a fee of $13,750 and has eight entries in the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale starting this Wednesday.
