Royal Ascot, June 18 – Yarraman Park is home to Australia’s leading first season sire I Am Invincible, whose sire Invincible Spirit starred at Royal Ascot on day one when his brilliant son Kingman captured the Group I St James’s Palace Stakes.

Juddmonte Farm won the Group I St James’s Palace Stakes in 2011 at Royal Ascot with superstar colt Frankel and captured the race again this year with another dominant colt in Kingman.

Beaten narrowly in the Group I English 2,000 Guineas to Night of Thunder before bouncing back to win the Group I Irish 2,000 Guineas, Kingman was sent out favourite for this assignment and left his rival Night of Thunder toiling in his wake over the final furlong.

When given full rein by James Doyle, the son of Invincible Spirit quickly sped away to win by two and a quarter lengths.

“It was awesome – that’s the best way to describe it,” said Doyle.

“They just can’t go quick enough for him, even when you go it seems as if you’re going too soon.”

Winning trainer John Gosden was thrilled with the win.

“Horses like this are few and far between, but we do not go round comparing ourselves to Frankel,” he said.

A homebred for Juddmonte Farms, Kingman has won five of six starts and is a half-brother to Group III winner Remote from Group I French Thousand Guineas winner Zenda, a half-sister by Zamindar to Group I winner and leading sire Oasis Dream.

Kingman is one of nine Group I winners by the outstanding Green Desert sire Invincible Spirit, whose Australian bred son I Am Invincible will be crowned Champion Australian First Season Sire for 2013/2014.
