The dust has now settled on a hugely successful 2015 Magic Millions Yearling Sale and we all know who were the leadings sires by average, but who were the most profitable in terms of returns for their breeder/vendor?
On a straight multiple of service fee to average on sires with three or more sold, Yarraman Park’s I Am Invincible was a mile in front returning 18.5 times his 2012 service fee of $11,000, his 13 yearlings averaging $203,846.
It’s the second year in a row that the young stallion has topped this category and reflects the growing respect that is held for the good looking son of champion European sire Invincible Spirit.
His first Group I winning son Brazen Beau has been secured by Darley to stand at their Victorian base later this year and that in itself is a massive vote of confidence in I Am Invincible from arguably the most powerful global breeding operation in the world.
I Am Invincible had a fee rise last year to $27,500 and covered over 200 mares, so is still very affordable and his success has been a godsend for the legion of smaller breeders that have supported him from day one and are reaping the rewards.
Next on the list returning 9.5 times service fee was Three Bridges Thoroughbreds based Stryker, followed by Eliza Park International (Queensland) with Love Conquers All returning 8.5 times fee.
