Resuming from a spell at Sandown on Saturday, the Gai Waterhouse trained Hinchinbrook gelding Brooklyn (pictured as yearling) gave a great sight to be beaten half a length in finishing third to Thurlow in the Group III MRC Chairmans Stakes.

A winner at the early season trials and not beaten far in two runs in Sydney during the spring, Brooklyn looked well up to winning a nice race this preparation with his effort on Saturday.

A $150,000 Magic Millions purchase for Gai Waterhouse/James Harron Bloodstock, Brooklyn runs for Segenhoe Thoroughbreds and partners and is the first foal of good metropolitan winner Believe ā€˜nā€™ Achieve, who had another filly by Hinchinbrook last spring.

Hinchinbrook filly Moment of Music also turned in a good effort at Sandown, hitting the front in the straight after turning for home in the $250,000 Inglis Premier before fading to run fifth.

A two time winner at Scone before heading to Melbourne, she ran a brave race and will be winning her share in the future.
