Quality Street Cry (IRE) mare Ghenwaa was the top priced offering at the 2018 Inglis Australian Broodmare Sale on Monday fetching $300,000 with a positive covering to Sebring.
Consigned by Yarraman Park on behalf of Shadwell, Ghenwaa is a winning half-sister to stakes-winner Haybah from the family of Group I winner Rebel Raider and was bought by Corumbene Stud.
“She’s a lovely mare. She’s a Street Cry, been well mated, I think she’s a good buy,” said Corumbene Stud’s George Altomonte, who bred and sold Sebring.
“She checks out pretty well. We’re thrilled to be adding her to our broodmare band.”
Yarraman Park’s I Am Invincible had the top lot at the Inglis Weanling Sale on Sunday with a colt from Bang On fetching $255,000 for Evergreen Stud Farm when bought by renowned Kiwi pinhookers Lyndhurst Farm.
The colt is from a placed New Zealand bred Pins daughter of Group I winner Critic from the family of Cox Plate winner Ocean Park, so will look right at home at Karaka next year.
