Sydney, December 16 – Talented Magic Albert four year-old Al Be Nimble powered home to score a terrific win at Rosehill on Saturday boosting his prizemoney in excess of $100,000.

Drawn wide and burdened with 58.5 kg in the restricted event over 1100 metres, Al Be Nimble was ridden quietly by Larry Cassidy coming with a late surge to defeat classy filly Hurried Choice by the best part of a length.

“He’s a nice horse this,” Markwell said.

“I’m undecided what to do with him now, we’ll just play it by ear. I’ll either run him in the Carrington (Randwick – January 1) over 1100 metres or he might go to the paddock as he’s been up a while.”

Al Be Nimble has the tidy record three wins and three seconds from eight starts with prizemoney of $106,050.

Retained to race by his breeder, Al Be Nimble is the second living foal of the imported Danehill mare Nimble (IRE), a winner at 1600 metres in Italy.

Nimble (IRE) has an unnamed two year-old full sister to Al Be Nimble, but unfortunately missed to Magic Albert when covered last spring.

Magic Albert covered his largest book of 180 mares last spring and has been popular again this year.
